Cheer Chain

A cheer chain is where a person in line at a retail outlet purchases the the item(s) for the person in line behind them. The cheer chain gained prominence when Starbucks Coffee encouraged them at their stores in 2007 as part of a pr event and news reports of chear chains of over 100 people were reported in news outlets.

A cheer chain is an extension of the "pay it forward" movement and "random acts of kindness" movement where people take the opportunity to do something nice in hopes that the person who received the kindness will pass it on to others who will again pass it on to even more people.
